At the Stellenbosch Organic Farmers’ Market you will find a variety of freshly harvested organic and biodynamic produce which is farmed in partnership with the earth and not against it.

You are greeted by the placid grazing of a Nguni herd, as you drive in toward the new site of the Stellenbosch Waldorf School. The market weaves its way through the school grounds and spills out onto sumptuous lawns which serve as playgrounds for little visitors, either having fun on the Dream Weaver organic jungle gym, pony rides or an artisan wood carving workshop. Parents, meanwhile, can exhale and enjoy breakfasts, cakes and coffee and why not stay for lunch, whilst keeping a relaxed eye on children.

During your visit you can be assured of filling your weeks shopping basket with all manner of local market wares, which serve to reduce our load on the earth. From pasture-reared chickens which come from less than 5 kms away, to local processed and preserved foods, cheeses, yoghurt, goats milk cheese, nuts and dried fruit, olives and oils, the market strives to become a one-stop, organic shopping destination. And with the abundance of farm fresh air, it’s an outing not to be missed.

Open from 09:00 to 14:00 every Saturday, if you need more information call 082 969 5757.
