Making CDM (clean development mechanism - an emissions trading mechanism embodied in the Kyoto Protocol) happen.

The CDM allows developing countries to establish greenhouse gas reduction projects and to sell related Carbon Credits to industrialized countries with specific commitments to reduce emissions.

PACE is a group of commited individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds (including legal, financial and environmental) that are working to make CDM happen in South Africa. We share a common understanding that global warming, if unchecked, will negatively effect the lives of every person on this planet. We share a common vision of passing on the planet to the next generation in a better state than we found it. We see that effective CDM projects can make this vision happen as well as provide income for those most in need.

We create an enabling environment for CDM projects. We are independent, non competitive and facilitatory.

We focus on small scale ((Renewable energy up to 15MW, Energy efficiency up to 15GWh/year, Other less than 15kt CO2/year) renewable energy (RE) and energy efficiency (EE) projects.
