Last month was Global Climate Wake-Up Call. This Saturday, 24 October, is a global day of action on climate change. Join the worldwide wave of events and show that you're serious about the global climate movement! Read on and find out about events near you... 350.org (350 is what scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide in the atmosphere - right now, mostly because we’ve burned so much fossil fuel, the atmospheric concentration of co2 is 390 ppm) is mobilising the world to action on Saturday. The reason: to tell governments that we are ready for an ambitious, fair and binding global climate deal! We call on world leaders to pass climate policies grounded in the latest science and strong enough to get us back to 350. How can I get involved? EVENTS Human 350 filmed from the air on Table Mountain – Cape Town and more 89 countries, according to Avaaz, have committed in principle to setting 350 ppm as a worldwide goal. Get our government to commit too. Visit 350.org for all the lowdown on taking place in a march, including how to make a banner, action ideas and more... In less than 50 days, our governments will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark, to negotiate a new global treaty to prevent a climate catastrophe. At the moment, the negotiations are stalling, and a fair ambitious and binding treaty looks a long way off. But it is precisely at times like these when people power, with hundreds of thousands of us working together, can make the difference! Viva 350!
