Chesterton Equestrian Estates is nestled in the foothills of the Magaliesburg Mountains, and is a living model for the future of discerning residential eco estates in South Africa, as the very design of all structures and facilities will focus on the environment.

Provision has been made to recycle all grey and black water, all the homes structures are designed to harvest and store rain water, and there is a full sorting and recycling of household and estate garbage. Homes incorporate solar powered electrical systems, together with Eskom’s involvement, for all estate heating and lighting requirements.

Organic gardens will offer a weekly delivery of seasonal vegetables, herbs and eggs and an apiary will provide raw honey to the estate. Teff and Lucerne hay crops will be grown for the residential horses. Waste from the residents and clubhouse restaurant along with the horse manure, will make compost and be utilised in the estate gardens.
